Nextome and Omlox: Powering the Future of Smart Industry Solutions
Omlox is an open and interoperable standard for real-time location services (RTLS) in industrial environments. It was developed through the collaboration of a consortium of leading technology and industrial companies, aiming to find a common solution to adoperate location data across different technologies such as UWB, BLE, RFID, and GPS. By establishing a common framework, Omlox enables seamless integration of location-based services, enhancing efficiency and flexibility in providing locating solutions to a wide range of industrial companies.
Nextome proudly pushes the collective innovation within the Omlox consortium, driving the evolution of this powerful standard. This collaboration takes place through participation in Omlox 'working groups' — dedicated teams where challenges related to the standard's procedures, documentation, and specifications are discussed, addressed, and where new features are introduced.
The Omlox standard offers a comprehensive range of certifications that cover every element of the location providers service pipeline — from hardware compatibility and positioning detection systems to the complete application stack that enables seamless use of location data.
At Nextome, our primary focus is on the application stack — known as the 'Omlox Hub'. Being a certified Omlox Hub enables seamless universal interoperability between our positioning systems, application software, and all other Omlox-certified partner systems.
While pursuing the certification process, Nextome contributes to the evolution of the Omlox standard by participating in both the Omlox Core Working Group and the Omlox Testing Tiger Team. We bring our technical expertise to these working groups meetings, helping to refine testing procedures, enhance interoperability and drive the continuous improvement of the Omlox Hub products.
